U.S. News & World Report recognized three Chevy models in its new list of “The 11 Best Diesel Pickup Trucks of 2021.” Each model earned praised for offering impressive towing capacities and delivering lots of torque.
The 2021 Colorado has a three-engine lineup, which includes the available Duramax® 2.8-liter Turbo-Diesel. This engine produces 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, while also giving the truck a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 pounds when properly equipped.
The 2021 Silverado 1500 offers the available Duramax® 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel, which reaches 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, the truck can tow up to 9,500 pounds, which is 1,900 pounds greater than the previous model year. This truck also has Jack-Knife Alert, the Trailer Length Indicator, and other newly available technologies to make towing easier.
For the 2021 Model year, the Silverado HD has also added trailering technology options. However, the truck continues to offer the powerful Duramax® 6.6-liter Turbo-Diesel V8 that achieves 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. The pickup has a best-in-class tow rating of up to 36,000 pounds with this engine.
